Service to others is service to the Lord. We prefer to lead by example, and take great interest in helping our community. Here is how we do it…
Please join one of the 2 Study Groups as we explore Revelations. For details, go to the Bible Study page from the menu under Ministries or click on the Heading for this section.
Leadership & Committees
St. Andrews is organized in a representative fashion, and values self-determination. The governing body of our church is the Session of Elders. The Deacons responsibly manage the budget, and work tirelessly maintaining our buildings and grounds.
Our Pastor is Glen Hallead, a Navy veteran and highly-accomplished scholar and missionary. Glen holds a B.S. in cultural anthropology from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, and an M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey. Read more about Glen Hallead’s background and adventures.
We also have key standing committees responsible for our programs and materials, including the Strengthening the Church Committee and Media Committee.
Our Choir is directed by Melanie Underwood, and provides musical inspiration for Sunday Services and special events.
The Men of the Church work to help St. Andrews in various projects and activities. Our monthly meetings concentrate on fellowship, caring for our Church, Church family, and God’s love for us.
The heart of our church is our women. The goals of the Presbyterian Women are to work for justice and peace, and build a caring community of women. Our Presbyterian Women hold three Circles which meet monthly for prayer and Bible study.
Other functions include:
- giving wedding and baby showers
- providing food for grieving families
- providing flowers for the sanctuary
- preparing the fellowship hall for special events
Our Youth Group includes children in grades 6-12. They plan and help with special events, and look forward to their Annual Mission Trip.
Outreach & Community Service
St. Andrews is an active benefactor of the Christian United Outreach Center of Lee County, a broad and compassionate effort to provide assistance to our neighbors in need, and assist them in becoming less ‘aid dependent.’ Please visit CUOC and contribute to a great mission.
We also reach out through other fantastic organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, Samaritan’s Purse, and more. Join us in helping others.
